Below is a consolidated list of some of the 501 (c)(3) organizations providing dedicated efforts to SARS-CoV-2 relief
501(c)(3) – DirectRelief
- Works internationally, but currently focused on bolstering U.S. ICU capacity
- Delivering PPE and mobilizing private resources to build a stockpile to assist with anticipated spike in ICU patients
501(c)(3) – Center for Disaster Philanthropy – COVID-19 Response Fund
- International relief
- A popular target for large donations from individual companies (Coca-Cola, New York Life, etc.)
- Providing grants to smaller, local NGOs who are directly responding to the pandemic (PPE for healthcare workers, support for quarantined/ vulnerable individuals)
- Has distributed money to Americares, Feeding America, Meals on Wheels
501(c)(3) – Project C.U.R.E.
- International efforts, but are currently focusing on the U.S. COVID-19 response
- Donating N95 masks, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s), gloves and other medical supplies to local communities in Denver, Nashville, Phoenix, Houston, Philadelphia, Kansas City, and Chicago
501(c)(3) – CDC foundation
- U.S.-based nonprofit, separate from the CDC (donations currently matched by Lysol)
- Deploying emergency staffing with the skills required to meet the needs on the front lines at the state and local level
- Fund and deliver critical home essentials, such as food and medical needs to quarantined and isolated individuals
501(c)(3) – Healthcare Ready
- Although fully engaged in COVID-19 response, donations are not specifically earmarked for this situation
- Has delineated U.S. specific and global efforts
- Monitoring and creating resources to improve supply chain operations
- Appears more tailored to logistical support rather than delivery of discrete aid (PPE, food, etc.)
501(c)(3) – Afya Foundation
- Currently collecting and coordinating the delivery of vitally needed personal protection equipment to New York hospitals and federally qualified health centers
- Partnering with HEROBOX, to move medical supplies from households to the front lines
- Supplies they’re currently focused on purchasing and delivering: masks (all types) and N95, face shields, goggles/eye protection, procedure gloves, disposable gowns and coveralls, disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer
501(c)(3) – Global Giving – Coronavirus Relief Fund
- International relief
- Sending healthcare workers and front-line responders to communities in need
- Providing masks, ventilators, and other lifesaving medical supplies to hospitals and clinics
- Feeding children and assisting those living in refugee camps in quarantined areas
501(c)(3) – Feeding America – COVID 19 Response Fund
- U.S.-based nonprofit
- Building an inventory of emergency food boxes and distributing them to member food banks across the U.S.
- Supporting food-insecure households during pandemic and can target smaller communities
501(c)(3) – Americares
- International relief
- Focusing on providing PPE and medical training to the frontlines of the pandemic, many recipient organizations serve large homeless populations
- Americares is training health workers in mental health, infection prevention and control, and disaster preparedness, and are also prepared to mobilize medical personnel to provide surge support for overwhelmed health facilities, if needed
